I bought a motorcycle

It’s an old CB 360 twin. I like it. I’m going to do what all the cool kids are doing and turn it into a cafe racer. This one was cleaned up by a retired Honda motorcycle tech. The battery isn’t charging, which I think is probably a rectifier (because of google. To be honest, I have no idea what I’m dealing with here.) I wish I’d done a bit more research before buying this thing. I wanted a CB350 four . . . and this 360 doesn’t seem to be supported by Honda or any other after market parts people. I can’t find a single replacement part that isn’t universal . . . here’s to hoping that it doesn’t break down immediately. The photo is from the internet. Mine has missmatched side covers (red) and is missing its blinkers, but other than that looks almost exactly the same.

I had a bit of an adventure getting it home as well. I was given a 5 min riding lesson (I brought my own helmet and gloves) and then we loaded it up onto a hitch mounted rack on the back of my suburban. On the way back I run out of gas on the interstate about 30 miles from home. So I’m sitting on the side of the road with a bone dry suburban and a completely full tank in the Honda . . . I don’t have any way to transfer the gas from the Honda to the suburban, so I get on it and ride it home. It was terrifying. 75mph is faster than I’d ever like to go on this thing. it was about 15 miles before I could get off the interstate and take back roads home.
